Rumours: Apple to keep the headphone jack after all

Apple could keep the 3.5mm headphone port on the iPhone 7 after all, according to the latest reports.
Contrary to consistent rumours that the next iPhone will only have a Lightning port, leaked images of alleged iPhone 7 components reveal that it will have a headphone jack, Engadget reports.
Removing  the 3.5mm headphone jack would allow Apple to make the iPhone 7 one millimetre slimmer than the iPhone 6S.
The anticipated move has been somewhat controversial. Instead of a dedicated headphone port, the iPhone 7 would use the Lightning port or Bluetooth for audio output. This means external headphone manufacturers would need to make new products compatible with the Lightning port, which users would then have to buy.
The company would presumably include new wireless headphones with the handset, or a pair of headphones that connect to the phone through a lightning connector. Given Apple's ownership of Beats, this shouldn't prove too much of a problem.
If the images from Rock Fix, a repair shop in Ganzhou, China, are correct, the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 will maintain the headphone jack, as well as having a slot for a second SIM card. It could also dual-lens camera and an updated antenna conpatible with Intel's modem for the GSM models.
The leaked pictures show that the iPhone 7 could come in a bigger size than the current models, with a 256GB version of the phone.
Rumours about Apple's upcoming iPhone 7 have suggested that not much is set to change, but leaked designs for the next model's cases suggest that there will be several significant differences.
The cases appear to show that Apple will get rid of the headphone jack, a move that could potentially result in a major backlash from customers who have splashed out on expensive headphones.
They also reveal a "dual camera" design, which could mean a vast upgrade to the iPhone camera making it capable of SLR-quality photos, as well as a "smart connector", which could be used to power accessories.
The 5.5-inch Plus Model, introduced in the iPhone 6 and continued with the iPhone 6s, has to date been largely similar to the 4.7-inch standard version. Minor differences include the addition of optical image stabilisation in the 6s Plus model.
But leaked photos of both handsets suggest the difference could be bigger this time round. Other leaked photos have suggested the smaller models will not have the smart connector, or dual-lens camera, although Apple is expected to remove the headphone jack on both.

iOS 10: The 10 Best New Features

Here are some of the best features:

Raise to wake

Hate pressing that home button to see your notifications? Apple's got you covered. In iOS 10, the phone's accelerometer will respond to you picking it up by lighting up the lock screen, showing your latest notifications.
To be fair, this might be one of those features that you don't know you need until you've tried it. Especially since Touch ID is now so fast that it's hard to press the home button without unlocking your phone.

Widgets

Apps will get a lot more useful without you having to actually open the app itself in iOS 10, as Apple introduces widgets - extra information from an app - on the lock screen and when using 3D Touch on an app.
Widgets will let you see calendar appointments, weather info and so on when swiping left from the lock screen, or check a sports score by using 3D Touch on a sports app such as ESPN.

Delete default apps

Some of you out there might count Compass as your most important app, but for many of us it is simply taking up real estate on the homescreen.
Although not mentioned in Apple's keynote, developers who have downloaded a beta release of iOS 10 say they are finally able to delete many of the apps that come with the iPhone, such as Stocks and Mail.

Emoji tap

It's 2016 and you're still communicating with words? Shame on you. Luckily, iOS 10 has a fix. Type out a sentence and, when you select the emoji keyboard, the Messages app will highlight certain words you can replace with an emoji. So type "basketball" and it will suggest a... you get the idea.
This might seem trivial but it can take a long time to find an emoji if you don't know where you're looking, so a lot of the time it might just be quicker to type the word out and get the phone to do the work.

A new Apple Music

Apple Music appears to have been a success since it launched last year, with more than 20 million paying subscribers on the streaming service, but it did have its critics.
For iOS 10, the software has been rebuilt from the ground up showing a cleaner design. Or in Apple's words: "It uses a new design language that allows the music to become the hero and a new structure that makes it easy to navigate and discover new music."

Siri for developers

Siri is getting on for five years old now, and has started to show its age compared to some younger models such as Amazon's Alexa. Which is why Apple has given it a new lease of life by opening the personal assistant up to third party developers.
This means you'll be able to ask Siri to send a WhatsApp, order an Uber and so on.

Better Maps

Yes, Apple Maps was a bit of a joke when it first launched, but in recent years it has improved significantly, and added features such as public transport.
In iOS 10, Maps will get a huge redesign with larger buttons, making it much simpler to use. And it will be open to Extensions, allowing you to book an Uber to a destination or reserve a table with OpenTable.

Photo Memories

Apps like Timehop have become a popular way to relive past memories, but they don't have access to your whole photo library like Apple does. In iOS 10, Apple will debut a new "Memories" feature that automatically stitches together a video of a time and place, such as holidays or weddings.
The feature uses computer vision software that is able to group together pictures of places and people to create personalised collections of images.

Chinese company suing Apple to ban iPhone 6 'barely exists,' says report

A Chinese company suing Apple for patent infringement appears to be virtually non-existent.
Known as Shenzhen Baili Marketing Services, the company filed a lawsuit against Apple in 2014, claiming that the iPhone 6 and 6S looked too much like its 100C phone. Bail iwanted a ban placed on iPhone 6 sales in Beijing, something the capital city's intellectual property regulator was prepared to do. But Apple filed an appeal, which means the iPhone 6 lineup remains on sale in Beijing.
Phone calls to Baili, which is owned by Chinese smartphone manufacturer Digione, were unanswered, according to the Wall Street Journal. Baili's websites no longer exist. And visits by the Journal to the three registered locations turned up no company offices.
CNET attempted to track down Baili but couldn't find a website for the company.
Further, Baili and Digione are both broke as their debt is greater than their overall assets. Digione's collapse was the result of "buggy products, mismanagement and fierce competition," former employees and investors told the Journal.
The lack of any obvious presence is just the latest wrinkle in the bizarre case that has wrapped up Apple in yet another patent infringement case. The lawsuit highlights the tough environment Apple faces in China, which also ruled earlier this year that Apple doesn't own the rights to the iPhone trademark.
Despite its lack of presence, Baili is "still operational in its necessary functions," and will continue to fight Apple in court, Digione lawyer Andy Yang told the Journal. Baili may even think about escalating its lawsuit to include the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, Yang added. But with its appeal in place, Apple needn't worry about a ban on iPhone sales in Beijing, at least not for now.
Apple did not immediately respond to CNET's request for comment.

Upcoming iPhone 7

UPCOMING iPhone 7:iPhone is expected to release on September 2016.iPhone 7 is the most anticipated device of the year 2016 that I believe, could make debut any time in winters just like iPhone 6S. The phone will be slightly larger than its predecessors and will be having other ultra advanced technology. Since the Cupertino, California based tech giant releases new iOS just before the launch of next generation iPhone, it is anticipated that the new iPhone, i.e. iPhone 7 gonna feature latest operation system with plenty of new interesting features, new UI, smarter SIRI, ultra fast processor and improved camera for clicking sharper pictures. As far as specification is concern, there is not much news about it however since very new iPhone (except S’s and C’s versions) are launched with latest iOS. So iPhone 7 will going to feature new OS i.e. iOS 10 which possibly be announced latest by September 2016.
If we talk about the screen size, the device is going to feature a little bigger screen than its predecessors i.e. iPhone 6 and 6 Plus which measure screen size of 4.7 and 5.5 respectively. Therefore the new iPhone will probably feature 5.8 screen size with OLED display. As far as camera is concern, iPhone 7 will sport improved 13 megapixel primary iSight camera with 8 megapixel secondary one.
iPhone 7 FEATURES:
SAPPHIRE GLASS:
According to the last rumors, the new iPhone 7 may feature Sapphire glass instead of Corning’s Gorilla glass that is being used in current iPhone. Sapphire glass is pretty much tough glass which is not easily breakable and the company is already using it in iWatch. It would be fair decision if Apple decides to use the same glass in new iPhone as well. As per Macworld, Apple is backing Arizona based plant run by G T Advanced Technologies that can be used to manufacture iPhone display.
BUTTON-LESS DESIGN:
The company may ditch its traditional design and come up with all new button-less design for its new iPhone 7. The home button which is being used in current iPhone can be eliminated completely to provide bigger space on the screen.
WIRELESS CHARGING:
The rivals like Samsung is already offering wireless charging facility to the customer which is pretty much convenient. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge can be charged wirelessly and the customers have appreciated this facility. Apple can’t afford to lag behind its rivals and it makes sense for the company to allow iPhone 7 charge wirelessly.
IMPROVED i SIGHT CAMERA:To enhance the picture quality, Apple might use iSight camera which will help you take bright and clear picture through its anticipated 13 megapixel primary camera. The iPhone 7 will be able to take pretty much better picture through its 8 megapixel secondary camera as well.
WATER AND DUST PROOF:
To give maximum protection to such premium device, the California based techie planing to make iPhone 7 Water as well as dust proof. According to the rumors, the phone will be waterproofed to iP67 standard which is meant for making devices water and dust proof. As per IP67 the device wouldn’t get damaged if it submerged under 1 meter water for 30 mins.
OLED DISPLAY:
.The latest rumors suggest that the iPhone 7 may feature OLED display instead of LCD which is currently being used. OLED screen generates its own light to illuminate however LCD screen requires back light to glow.
iPhone 7 PRICE: With all these advanced features, I can anticipate the price of iPhone 7 may fall between the price range of 800-900 USD depending upon different locations and GB memory. The Phone could be available in contract with mobile carriers but at this point of time it is pretty hard to predict which carrier will have the privilege. With contract, the consumer will have to spend a couple of hundred dollar initially and rest can be paid in due course as contract lasts. Below are the tentative price of iPhone 7 in different countries.

iPhone Hidden Features And Tricks

iPhone has an impressive tools with a lot of brilliant features, and there are several hidden features you must know. Now I will show you some hidden features of
iPhone. These tips and tricks can help you achieve things
quicker and easier.

Create Custom iMessage replies for call you can't answer:

Sometimes it's not the right time for a phone call; and while you could just let calls you don't want to take go to voicemail, sometimes you want to explain why you're not picking up. iOS let you quickly respond to a call with a text message.
Depending on which version of iOS you're running, you either swipe upward on the phone icon that appears next to the unlock slider and choose Respond With Text, or tap the button labelled Message above the Slide To Answer slider.
By default, you'll get three pre-written options ("Sorry, I can't talk right now", "I'm on my way" and "Can I call you later?"), along with a button that lets you enter text there and then. However, you can customise the prepared messages under Settings > Phone > Respond With Text. You can't have more than three, however: if you want to add a new one, you'll have to sacrifice one of the current options. Tap the one you're willing to lose and type in the new response.Alternatively, you can get iOS to remind you to call back later. As with the auto-replies, the way you do this depends on your version of iOS: in iOS 9 you tap the Remind Me button above the slide, but in earlier versions you swiped upwards and selected Remind Me Later.
You can choose to be reminded in an hour, 'When I Leave' or (where applicable) 'When I Get Home'. Make sure your address details are up to date in Contacts, so your iPhone knows where home is. The timings will be based on your GPS movements.

Create Custom Ringtones  And Alert Tones in iTunes on Garage Band:

You can create ringtones for your iPhone based on any music track in your iTunes library.Better still, you can create unique custom iPhone ringtones from your own audio creations, and this is especially user-friendly if you do the creative work on the iPhone itself. Create a 30-second track in GarageBand; go to the Share options and choose Ringtone; then assign it to a contact or notification.

SOFTWARE HISTORY:
The original operating system for the original iPhone was iPhone OS 1, marketed as OS X, and included Visual Voicemail, multi-touch gestures, HTML email, Safari web browser, threaded text messaging, and Youtube. However, many features like MMS, apps, and copy and paste were not supported at release, leading hackers Jailbreaking their iPhones to add these features. Official software updates slowly added these features.
iPhone OS 2 was released on July 11, 2008, at about the same time as the release of the iPhone3G  and introduced third-party applications, Microsoft Exchange support, push e-mail, and other enhancements.
iPhone OS 3 was released on June 17, 2009, and introduced copy and paste, Spotlight Search for the Home Screen, and new YouTube features. This version of OS updated the software of the original iPhone as well as the iPhone 3G; however, not all features of iPhone OS 3.0 were supported on the original iPhone.
iPhone OS 3.1.3 was the last version of iPhone OS (now iOS) to be released for the original iPhone.
